More info on the CHATHAM/CARY MEETING

Reminder and some additional info: Joint Chatham/Cary Meeting
Tuesday Feb. 20th at 7 PM at North Chatham Elementary School,
Multi-Purpose Room

At the Work Session of the Board of Commissioners this afternoon (Monday, Feb. 19th), a discussion ensued about the meeting between the Chatham Commissioners and the Cary Town Council in reference to joint land planning for the area east of Jordan Lake, north of White Oak Creek and US Highway 64. (For exact location and the proposed land use maps, go to www.co.chatham.nc.us and click on Planning and then on Joint Planning for Chatham and Cary).

The Chatham Board of Commissioners and Cary Town Council will respond to a draft of the land use proposal prepared by the Planning Departments of both groups. The public is invited to listen to their discussion. The Chatham Board of Commissioners has committed to take comments from any citizens immediately after the joint meeting until 9:30 PM. It is not known at this time if the Cary Town Council will remain for this citizen input session as well.

Many of you may not be aware, but it is this part of the County that has often been the area that has had properties annexed by Cary. This meeting follows 2 previous meetings where citizens have been shown maps and met in small groups to get information. This, however, is the first meeting that has brought their government representatives together for a joint session to respond to the current land issues.

We hope to see you there.
